New STEM Program at GLCP!
In the fall of 2024, we will be implementing a new STEM Program at our center called Seeds of STEM! Incorporating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), in early childhood curriculum is a key component to helping children develop critical thinking and problem solving skills that will serve them throughout life.
Seeds of STEM is a curriculum developed by researchers from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), the College of the Holy Cross, and teachers from the Worcester Head Start Program.
The Seeds of STEM program features 8 units. Throughout the units, children will have the opportunity to define and research a problem, brainstorm possible solutions, plan, create, and test solutions, and then share their findings!
